How The Market Works

Free stock market game - learn how to invest your hard earned money.  This site is full of a lot of information.  Just take it slow and learn one thing at a time.  I used this for a grade 6 Investing Club when I was teaching at Walnut Grove Public School.

From Personal Finance Lab - I use this in my sessions with youth.  The game provides many opportunities to make money decisions and have discussions with youth.

Canva

I use Canva, a digital design software, for all kinds of things like creating worksheets, Facebook ads, webpages, logos, resumes, instagram ads, cover letters -- you name it!  It makes my sessions more personal. It has a huge design capacity.  So, take it slow.

Google Lens

I cannot tell you how excited I am about this!  Listening to information is reading too!

Google Lens can read text aloud from a screenshot or a live image. Here’s how to do it:

On Android

  1. Take a Screenshot – Capture the screen you want to read.
  2. Open Google Photos – Find your screenshot in the Google Photos app.
  3. Tap on "Lens" (Google Lens Icon) – It looks like a small square with a dot in the center.
  4. Select "Text" – Google Lens will detect the text in the image.
  5. Tap "Listen" – A button will appear at the bottom that says "Listen," and Google Assistant will read the text aloud.

💡 Alternative: If you don't have Google Photos, you can also open Google Lens from the Google app and scan your image directly.

On iPhone

  1. Open the Google App (Install from the App Store if needed).
  2. Tap the Google Lens Icon (Camera icon in the search bar).
  3. Choose an Existing Screenshot or take a new photo.
  4. Tap "Text" to highlight the words.
  5. Press "Listen" to hear the text read aloud.
